The Skylark Federation – Individual Needs Assistant (SEN Focus)
Location: Hamsey Community Primary School
The Skylark Federation is seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and committed Individual Needs Assistant (INA) to join our welcoming and friendly team at Hamsey Community Primary School.
This rewarding role will primarily involve working closely with a child with Special Educational Needs (SEN) within our Year 5/6 class. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a child's educational journey.
The successful candidate:
About the role: You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to provide tailored support in the
classroom, helping the pupil access learning in core subjects such as English, Maths and PSHE. You’ll also
assist with social and emotional development, encouraging independence and confidence.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with children in a Primary school
 - Is patient, empathetic and adaptable
 - Can work collaboratively with staff and communicate effectively with parents
 - Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
 - Has basic Maths and English skills to support learning (e.g., reading comprehension, spelling,
 - number operations and problem-solving)

Full training and ongoing support will be provided to ensure the successful candidate feels confident in delivering high-quality SEN support. A genuine passion for working with young children and those with additional needs is essential.
Hours: Mon-Weds -8.30am – 11.45am, Thurs-Fri- 8.30-1pm, term time only.
Start Date: As soon as possible.
